Mike Perry is set to return to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) for an anticipated matchup against fellow UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens. The fight will headline the inaugural BKFC event in Newark, New Jersey, scheduled for October 4, 2024. This announcement was made during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week.
Perry, known as the “King of Violence,” has been a prominent figure in BKFC since joining the promotion. He last fought in April 2024, where he delivered a stunning performance, finishing former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves just one minute into the first round. This victory improved Perry’s bare-knuckle record to an impressive 5-0, which also includes notable wins over former UFC champions Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold.
Following his victory against Alves, Perry transitioned to boxing, facing off against social media influencer Jake Paul. Unfortunately, he suffered a loss via sixth-round TKO. Since that bout, Perry has eagerly awaited his next opportunity, and the upcoming fight against Stephens marks his return to the BKFC arena.
On the other side of the ring, Jeremy Stephens brings a strong bare-knuckle record of 3-0. His latest victory came against Eddie Alvarez in January 2024. After that win, Stephens briefly returned to the UFC, competing in an event in his home state of Iowa, where he lost a decision to Mason Jones.
As the two fighters prepare for their clash in Newark, both Perry and Stephens are eager to solidify their standings in the sport. Perry seeks to maintain his undefeated streak in bare-knuckle fighting, while Stephens aims to enhance his own impressive record. The matchup promises to be an exciting event for fans of combat sports, setting the stage for a thrilling night in New Jersey.
