Anson Mount expressed his gratitude to fans with a Thanksgiving greeting as filming for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds approaches completion. The production is nearing the end, with only the final episode left to shoot, indicating a significant milestone for the series.
Filming at CBS Stages Mississauga in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the cast and crew have been hard at work throughout the fall season. The anticipated wrap date is set for December 2025, following a successful run that has captivated audiences since its premiere. The show was renewed for a fifth and final season when season three debuted on Paramount+ in June 2025.
Filming Updates and Cast Insights
Mount shared his Thanksgiving wishes through a video on his Instagram account, capturing a moment as he left his trailer to join the set. In the clip, he greeted his co-star, Jess Bush, with a warm hug before heading to work alongside producing director Chris Fisher. As Mount noted, the American cast and crew continue filming through the Thanksgiving holiday, differing from the Canadian Thanksgiving celebration that occurred in October.
Reflecting on the intense schedule, Mount appears more rejuvenated in the recent video compared to a previous post where he admitted to feeling exhausted after returning home for the weekend. He plans to travel back to his home in Nashville, Tennessee, for a belated Thanksgiving celebration before returning to the set on Monday.
At the recent Creation Entertainment’s ST: CHI – Trek to Chicago convention, fellow cast member Christina Chong shared her emotions about the production nearing its end, describing it as “bittersweet.” She remarked, “We are just almost finishing. We’re about to start shooting the last episode of Strange New Worlds. How crazy is that?”
Looking Ahead: Future of Star Trek
As the cast prepares to conclude filming, there remains much to anticipate. Season four of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is scheduled for release in 2026, followed by season five, expected to arrive in 2027. Fans can look forward to 16 more episodes in total, adding to the expansive universe that has been a staple of the franchise.
The excitement surrounding the series continues to grow as the final touches are made to the production. With a dedicated fanbase and a talented cast and crew, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to leave a lasting impact on the franchise for years to come.
