He commented, “I know exactly who, but I can’t tell you,” while suggesting that there are “good candidates” to fill the leadership void in the country, which has a population of approximately 91 million.
The president acknowledged the repercussions of Iran’s counter-strikes across the Middle East, stating, “It’s what we expected.” Nevertheless, he noted that the scale of retaliation was less severe than anticipated, saying, “Less than we thought, actually. We thought it’d be double.”

He refrained from labeling the recent strikes as a “war,” emphasizing his intent to work closely with legislative leaders. “I always want to work with Congress. Always.
