The Suffolk County Police Department confirmed the recovery of his body on March 7, 2023, marking a heartbreaking conclusion to a search that captivated the community.
Medlin disappeared on January 9, 2023, after telling his family he was heading to meet someone he met through the online game Roblox. He left the Stony Brook School around 3:30 p.m. and was last seen at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan at 5:30 p.m. that same day. Surveillance footage later placed him on the pedestrian walkway of the Manhattan Bridge at 7:06 p.m., with his cellphone last active just minutes later at 7:09 p.m.
Authorities reported a splash was captured on video at 7:10 p.m., but Medlin was never seen leaving the bridge. Investigators have stated that there is currently “no indication of criminal activity” related to his disappearance.
