BREAKING: LEGO has just announced a highly anticipated 2,912-piece Goonies LEGO set inspired by the beloved 1985 adventure film, The Goonies. This detailed diorama, featuring the legendary pirate ship Inferno, will be available for early access on November 1, with a wider release set for November 4, priced at $309.99.
The intricate set recreates iconic scenes from the film, including the Fratellis’ hideout and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room. It includes 12 minifigures, showcasing beloved characters such as Mikey, Mouth, and Chunk, along with exciting new pieces for Sloth’s pirate hat and Mama Fratelli’s beret.
To celebrate the launch, LEGO enlisted Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, who played Data in the original film, for a nostalgic mini-film that explores the set’s intricate details and hidden Easter eggs. Quan reminisced about the film’s original reveal scene, stating, “When the time came to film the reveal, they had us walk in backwards… to capture our reaction as we saw the Inferno for the first time.”
The project stems from LEGO Ideas, a fan-submission program, and was designed by Vaggelis Ntezes, a Greek 3D artist. Ntezes expressed his emotional connection to the project, stating, “In designing this set, I revisited my childhood memories… I wanted to build something that offered both playability and display value.”
As part of a special promotion, early buyers will receive a bonus 179-piece Goonies: The Walsh’ Attic set, replicating the attic scene where the kids discover their treasure map.
