In-N-Out Burger has successfully launched its first restaurants east of the Mississippi River, attracting considerable attention and long wait times in Tennessee. The chain opened three locations in Antioch, Lebanon, and Murfreesboro on December 1 and 3, 2023, and the excitement surrounding these openings shows no signs of fading.
A new app called the Wait App, available at thewaitapp.com, has been tracking the wait times at these locations using crowdsourced data. Although the app is not affiliated with the California-based chain, it offers valuable insights for eager customers. As of December 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. CST, drive-thru wait times averaged between 27 and 36 minutes, while walk-in diners experienced waits of 23 to 44 minutes. These figures are on the high end compared to typical wait times at In-N-Out restaurants in other regions, where 10 to 15 minutes is more common, according to posts on social media platforms like Facebook and Reddit.
In-N-Out’s expansion into Tennessee has brought its total number of locations to 431 across 10 states, including California, Texas, and now Tennessee. The company is in the midst of a significant growth phase in the state and plans to open its eastern headquarters in Franklin, a Nashville suburb, in the near future. This strategic move was announced by owner and president Lynsi Snyder last summer.
Denny Warnick, In-N-Out’s chief operating officer, expressed optimism about the chain’s future in Tennessee, stating that their immediate focus is on establishing connections between Tennessee and their Texas locations, previously the easternmost point of the chain. The company currently lists two upcoming locations on its website, one in Bell and another in Franklin, highlighting its commitment to expanding its presence in the region.
The response from Tennessee residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing excitement about the new restaurants on social media. Warnick remarked, “Christmas came early,” when discussing the reception In-N-Out has received since its arrival in the state.
It’s worth noting that the new locations will adjust their hours for the holiday season, closing early at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remaining closed all day on Christmas Day.
As In-N-Out continues to grow in Tennessee, it remains a hot topic for burger enthusiasts and those eagerly awaiting the chance to experience the brand’s renowned offerings. For more information, visit In-N-Out’s official website at in-n-out.com.
