URGENT UPDATE: Florida police are appealing for public assistance following a shocking surveillance video that appears to show the possible abduction of a woman in broad daylight. The incident occurred on January 1, 2024, around 6:45 a.m., outside the Lake Condominium near West 27th Avenue and 52nd Street in Hialeah.
Authorities say a concerned citizen alerted 911 after witnessing what she believed was an abduction. The surveillance footage, which has now been reviewed by investigators, supports this alarming account. It shows a man in all black standing near a modified white Ford F-150, appearing to force a woman, dressed in a gray sweatshirt and khaki sweatpants, into the vehicle.
Police describe the man as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall. The woman has long black hair and was last seen wearing black sandals. Despite the disturbing circumstances, as of today, no missing persons report matching her description has been filed, complicating police efforts to locate her.
Local resident Brian Sanz, who is the 27-year-old son of the building manager, expressed shock at the incident. “I do not recognize the people in the surveillance photos,” Sanz told CBS News Miami. “I can say I have never seen them before… Nothing like this ever goes on here. This is a chill neighborhood.”
Another resident reported hearing screams that morning, stating, “I heard her say ‘no.’ This place has been really quiet for years and not the sort of place where this stuff happens. I was scared. I couldn’t go back to sleep.”
The police have classified this as a “suspicious incident,” with a primary focus on the woman’s safety. In an official statement, they emphasized their urgency: “Our primary concern is the immediate well-being of the female involved. Our detectives are working diligently to locate her as quickly as possible to verify her safety.”
As the investigation unfolds, police are urging anyone who recognizes the man, the woman, or the vehicle to come forward. Those with information are encouraged to contact Hialeah police at 305-687-2525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
This urgent call to action highlights the need for community awareness and vigilance in ensuring safety. Stay tuned for further developments as this situation continues to evolve.
