Melissa L. Roff of Modena, New York, passed away on December 25, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years old. Roff died at MidHudson Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, who were the cornerstone of her life.
Born on April 12, 1965, Melissa dedicated her life to her loved ones, exhibiting a fierce protective spirit and offering unconditional love. Her battle with cancer was marked by remarkable strength and resilience, as she remained at home with her family until her final days.
Family held a profound significance for Melissa, extending beyond traditional boundaries. She is survived by her children: Nicholas DelPezzo and Trish, Michael DelPezzo and Tara, Anthony Roff, Ashley Roff, and Sean Roff. As a proud grandmother, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren, including Melaina, Aaliyah, Hayden, Josh, Feliciano, Aubrey, Tony, Yvonne, Alexis, Emanuel, Maleki, and Arianna, along with her cherished great-grandchild, Kael.
Melissa was also engaged to Stacey, who embraced her children and grandchildren as his own, further enriching the family dynamic she cherished deeply. She is survived by her siblings: Teresa, Mike, Bill, and Jennifer. Additionally, Melissa maintained close ties with her cousins, including Sloane in North Carolina and Dawnwilla and Karen in Florida.
Her passing marks the end of an era filled with love and devotion. Melissa now joins her parents, John and Lois Roff, her brother, John Roff, and her beloved granddaughter, Somia, who had all preceded her in death.
Melissa’s life exemplified dedication and generosity. Those who knew her often remarked on her ability to make others feel truly seen and valued. While her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, her family finds solace in the belief that she is at peace, celebrating the ultimate Christmas with her faith.
At this time, no formal services are planned, but a celebration of her life will be organized in the future to honor her memory. As Melissa often reflected, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” echoing 2 Timothy 4:7.
