BREAKING: Star player Angel Reese is officially returning to the 3×3 league Unrivaled, with a mid-season deal announced just hours ago. The former WNBA standout, currently with the Chicago Sky, is set to rejoin her old team, Rose BC, on February 20, 2026.
This move comes after Reese hinted at her return during a recent episode of her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” where she discussed her connection with Unrivaled coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon expressed her commitment to bringing Reese back, stating, “You entertain people, that’s why they get their butts in the seats to come and watch you.”
Rose BC currently sits in fifth place out of eight teams in the league, with a 5-6 record. With playoffs beginning on February 28, Reese’s return could be the game-changer they need. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs, making every game critical.
Reese’s addition comes at a crucial time for Unrivaled, which recently achieved a record attendance for women’s pro basketball during a tour stop in Philadelphia. However, overall TV ratings have been underwhelming this season, and Reese’s star power could generate much-needed excitement.
This season has been challenging for Unrivaled, with injuries sidelining top players like Sabrina Ionescu, Napheesa Collier, and Satou Sabally. The league had to create a development pool for younger players to fill in, but signing a renowned athlete like Reese helps restore its competitive edge and allure.
In her busy off-season, Reese has engaged in numerous ventures, including podcasting, fashion, and acting. She recently landed a role on the Netflix show “The Hunting Wives” and attended a training camp for Team USA in December, evaluating players for the 2026 FIBA World Cup. Despite her packed schedule, she expressed her eagerness to return to Unrivaled, saying, “I miss the development. I can try stuff, I can do whatever, and I can take it and implement it to the W.”
In the inaugural season of Unrivaled, Reese helped lead Rose BC to a championship victory and earned the title of Defensive Player of the Year. With her back in the lineup, all eyes will be on Rose BC as they aim for playoff success starting next week.
The championship game is set for March 4, 2026, and Reese’s presence could not only boost her team’s chances but potentially revitalize fan interest in the league. Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses!
