Netflix has introduced a selection of new shows and movies for the week of January 12-18, 2026. While the streaming giant may not be adding a vast array of titles, there are noteworthy offerings that promise to engage viewers. Among the highlights is the much-anticipated crime thriller, The Rip, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, which is set to be a significant addition to the platform.

The Rip: A High-Stakes Thriller

In The Rip, Affleck and Damon reunite as Miami detectives, Lt. Dane Dumars and Det. Sgt. JD Byrne. The plot centers on their raid of a stash house, initially believed to contain $300,000 in drug money. However, the stakes dramatically escalate when they discover a staggering $20 million hidden inside. The unexpected windfall turns their narcotics operation into a volatile battleground, as various parties with firearms emerge, intent on claiming the cash. This action-packed story promises to be one of the platform’s biggest films of the year. Viewers can catch it starting on January 16, 2026.

Mystery and Comedy Await

For those who prefer a mystery miniseries, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials is also debuting this week. The show features Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, an aspiring detective who finds herself in a perilous situation at a 1925 English countryside house party. One of the guests is found dead after a prank goes awry, and Lady Brent must unravel the mystery. The series boasts an impressive cast, including Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman, and comes from the acclaimed creator of Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall. This three-part series will be available on January 15, 2026.

Another returning favorite is The Upshaws, which begins its seventh and final season. The family sitcom, featuring Mike Epps as Bennie Upshaw, follows the challenges of family life in Indianapolis. This season, the plot thickens as Regina, played by Kim Fields, runs for office while Bennie’s garage faces financial difficulties. The final season promises to deliver the humor and heart fans have come to expect, streaming from January 15, 2026.

New Seasons and Exciting Premieres

Reality TV enthusiasts will be delighted by the return of The Boyfriend for its second season. This groundbreaking Japanese series focuses on same-sex relationships, placing ten single men together in a shared house. The new season shifts to a scenic location at Lake Akan in Hokkaido, where friendships and romantic connections are explored amidst a winter backdrop. This season premieres on January 13, 2026.

Anime fans also have something to look forward to with the debut of Love Through a Prism. From acclaimed manga creator Yoko Kamio, this series follows Lili Ichijoin, a passionate young painter studying at a prestigious art academy in London. The coming-of-age story is set to resonate with audiences when it launches on January 15, 2026.

On the sports front, Monday Night Raw: 2026 will deliver live wrestling action on January 12, 2026. This episode marks the first show since CM Punk retained the world heavyweight championship, ensuring plenty of drama and excitement for wrestling fans.

Finally, the thriller Bone Lake will be available for streaming starting January 15, 2026. The plot revolves around a couple who mistakenly book the same secluded lake house as another couple. The film promises unexpected twists in this erotic thriller that gained critical acclaim upon its initial release.

As Netflix continues to expand its offerings, these new titles provide a variety of entertainment options for subscribers. For viewers interested in what is leaving the platform, popular titles like Confessions of a Shopaholic and Donnie Darko will be departing soon.

With a mix of thrilling action, engaging mysteries, and heartfelt comedies, this week’s Netflix lineup is sure to keep subscribers entertained.
