Jane Alderson, a cherished member of the Grand Forks community in North Dakota, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 73. Her family and friends remember her as a devoted mother, grandmother, and advocate for animals, whose kindness touched many lives.
Born on October 28, 1951, in Grand Forks, Jane was the daughter of Dr. Thomas F. Alderson and Bernice Alderson. After completing her education at Grand Forks Central High School, she moved to the Twin Cities in Minnesota, where she established her career and raised her family.
Jane worked as a Dental Hygienist and later transitioned to a role as a Medical Coding Specialist, retiring in 2018. Throughout her professional life, she was known not just for her work ethic but also for her compassion towards her patients and colleagues.
In her personal life, Jane was dedicated to her two sons, James Domenick Gambucci, 45, and Anthony Thomas Gambucci, 44. She took immense joy in watching them play hockey and supported them in all their endeavours. Jane’s love extended to her grandchildren, James Dylan (JD), Coco, and Serena Gambucci, who brought her great happiness.
Jane’s passions included reading, gardening, and caring for her beloved pets. Known for her devotion to the church and her advocacy for animal welfare, she often contributed to local charitable organizations. She is survived by her sons, her sister Nancy Hoppel (Joe), her brother Robert Alderson (Peggy), and her grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas E. Alderson.
