Former Assistant District Attorney and current Family Court Attorney, Stephanie Singe-Cully, announced her candidacy for the position of Oneida County Family Court Judge on March 15, 2024, during an event at 72 Tavern & Grill in Utica, New York. Singe-Cully, who has dedicated her career to serving children and families, emphasized her commitment to navigating complex legal challenges in Family Court.
“Today, I stand before you humbled, energized, and proud to officially declare my candidacy for Oneida County Family Court Judge,” Singe-Cully stated. She highlighted her experience in the Family Court system, noting that she works daily on issues that impact the safety and stability of families in her community.
The seat for Family Court Judge will be contested in the 2026 election, as the current judge, Hon. Randall B. Caldwell, is not seeking re-election. Singe-Cully has been serving as the Court Attorney to Hon. Paul M. Deep since 2023, providing legal counsel across various cases in his courtroom. Her extensive experience includes over a decade as an Oneida County Assistant District Attorney and later as Bureau Chief at the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Throughout her tenure as a prosecutor, Singe-Cully managed thousands of cases, focusing on serious offenses such as sexual assaults and child exploitation. She collaborated closely with law enforcement to ensure effective prosecution of child sexual offenders.
At her campaign event, former Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara praised Singe-Cully’s qualifications. “I’ve seen her work firsthand to secure justice for families in the courtroom,” he remarked. “Stephanie has the experience we need to serve families across Oneida County during their most challenging times.”
A lifelong resident of Oneida County, Singe-Cully, 36, grew up in New Hartford and is a graduate of LeMoyne College and Florida Coastal School of Law. She now resides in New Hartford with her husband, Matt, and their nine-month-old son, Rocco. Singe-Cully expressed her commitment to making Oneida County a safe and supportive environment for families.
“As my husband and I raise our growing family here, I am as committed as ever to do everything I can to make Oneida County as safe and promising a place as it has been for me,” she said. “With your support, we will bring fairness, accountability, and compassion to Family Court.”
In addition to her professional endeavors, Singe-Cully is actively involved in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Oneida County Bar Association and participates as a Community Reader within the Utica School District.
Singe-Cully is running as a registered Republican and is seeking the party’s nomination for Family Court Judge. The New York General Election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
