Constance “Connie” Konnick, a beloved member of the Allentown, Pennsylvania community, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 89. Her family announced her departure, noting that she is now joyfully reunited with her parents, Mary and Edmund Sechowitz.
Born on May 12, 1936, in Sellersville, Connie dedicated a substantial part of her life to her career at AT&T, where she served for 35 years. Beyond her professional commitments, she was a passionate practitioner and instructor of Tai Chi. Connie found profound meaning in working with individuals suffering from dementia in local residential care communities, demonstrating her deep compassion and commitment to helping others.
Connie’s warmth, intelligence, and sense of humor endeared her to many. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Konnick, and her children, Mark Dantzer and Scot Dantzer. Her family also includes daughters-in-law, Jill Dantzer and Linda Niemeyer, along with her stepson, Troy, and his wife, Peg. Connie’s legacy continues through her two grandchildren, Zachary Dantzer and Trevor Poudrier, as well as her sister, Amelia, and brother-in-law, Edward Howe. Throughout her life, she cherished the many friendships she cultivated, which brought her immense joy.
A memorial service to honor Connie’s life will take place on October 4, 2025, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 1933 Hanover Ave. in Allentown. The service will begin with calling hours at 10:00 AM, followed by the memorial service. A private interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Connie’s memory, reflecting her enduring spirit and the impact she had on her community. Her legacy of compassion and dedication will surely be missed by all who knew her.
