A motorcycle officer from the Anaheim Police Department was hospitalized following a collision with a sedan in Eastvale on December 12, 2023. The incident occurred shortly before 16:00 local time near Limonite Avenue and Eastvale Gateway, according to authorities.
The accident involved a sedan making a left turn, which struck the motorcyclist. Sgt. Matt Sutter, a spokesperson for the Anaheim Police, confirmed that the injured officer is a sergeant with the department. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The driver of the sedan remained at the scene of the accident, cooperating with law enforcement. Emergency responders from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office arrived shortly thereafter to assess the situation. Lt. Deirdre Vickers from the sheriff’s office is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Several pieces of the police motorcycle were scattered across the scene, highlighting the severity of the crash. Authorities are working to gather additional information, including eyewitness accounts, to clarify the details of the incident.
