Lottie M. McNeal, a beloved community member and devoted family matriarch, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Upper Marlboro, MD. Born on December 31, 1938, to Linwood and Sarah Moore, Lottie spent her formative years in Newport News, Virginia, where she graduated from Huntington High School.

Lottie became an active participant in her children’s education and community, serving as a cub scout leader, a member of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and a school room mother. Her commitment to service extended beyond her family, as she made significant contributions to the First Church (Baptist) of Newport News, where she was involved as an usher and participated in the Feed the Hungry Ministry.

Throughout her professional life, Lottie worked in sales, eventually becoming a department manager at Leggett Department Store in Newport News. Her passion for bowling lasted for decades; she was not only a competitive team member but also traveled extensively across the country to participate in bowling tournaments until as recently as Spring 2025.

Lottie is survived by her daughter, **Marlette Mills** (Eric Mills), and her sons, **Anthony** and **Brian McNeal** (Pamala McNeal), along with grandchildren **Ryan** and **Devin Mills**, **Sean** and **Pamela McNeal**, and a multitude of family members and friends who cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, **Lorenzo McNeal**, her daughter **Pamela McNeal-Parks** (Stewart Parks), and her son **Eric McNeal**.

A viewing will take place on **September 25, 2025**, from 11:00 to 17:00 at Cooke Brothers Funeral Home, located at 1601 27th Street, Newport News, VA 23607. Visitation will begin at 11:00 on **September 26**, followed by a “Celebration of Life” service starting at 12:00 in the chapel of Cooke Brothers. Lottie will be interred at Hampton Memorial Gardens, located at 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.

In honoring her legacy, Lottie’s family encourages those who wish to pay tribute to consider sending flowers, planting a tree, or providing a meal to those in need, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and community.
