Rihanna Praises Natasha Lyonne in Exclusive Clip for Smurfs Release

In a newly released exclusive clip from the Smurfs digital edition, Rihanna, who voices Smurfette, expresses her admiration for fellow cast member Natasha Lyonne, who plays Mama Poot. The film, which became available for digital purchase today, features a star-studded lineup and promises over 35 minutes of bonus content.

Behind the Scenes with the Cast

The animated adventure follows Smurfette leading her friends on a daring mission to rescue Papa Smurf, voiced by John Goodman, after he is kidnapped by the evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel. The synopsis highlights how the Smurfs team up with new allies to embark on an epic journey, discovering their true destiny along the way.

In the exclusive clip, Rihanna says, “I love Mama Poot. I’m a fan of Natasha Lyonne. Her voice is made for animation.” Lyonne elaborates on her experience, explaining how she connected with her character under the guidance of director Chris Miller, describing the creative environment as supportive and encouraging.

The film, directed by Miller and written by Pam Brady, features an impressive ensemble cast, including James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Sandra Oh, and others.
