Quentin Tarantino has expressed his desire to create both a prequel origin story for his iconic character Bill from the *Kill Bill* franchise and an animated film centered on the Vega brothers. This announcement follows the release of *Yuki’s Revenge*, a previously unreleased chapter from the *Kill Bill* script, which debuted in the popular online game Fortnite.
During a recent Q&A session at the Los Angeles premiere of *Yuki’s Revenge*, Tarantino shared his thoughts on animation as a medium to bring his unrealized projects to life. He said, “I could see some world between [Unreal Engine] and Japanese anime that I could find some happy medium. Or, you know, between the things that I couldn’t physically do, like, say, the Vega Brothers movie, or something like that.”
The *Vega Brothers* project, which has remained dormant for years, would feature the characters Vincent Vega from *Pulp Fiction* and Vic Vega from *Reservoir Dogs*. This film would serve as a prequel, depicting a reunion of the two brothers in Amsterdam.
Tarantino also hinted at his ambitions within the *Kill Bill* universe, revealing that he has a comprehensive idea for a Bill origin story. “I have a whole *Kill Bill* idea in my mind but I was wiped out,” he stated. He emphasized his interest in exploring the backstories of the three influential figures who shaped Bill: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzo. He pondered, “Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen.”
The *Kill Bill* films, starring Uma Thurman as the Bride, follow her quest for vengeance against the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, which includes her former colleagues and their leader, Bill. The original two volumes were released in 2003 and 2004 and are now set to be re-released in cinemas as a single, four-hour presentation titled *The Whole Bloody Affair* on December 5, 2023. This event promises to reignite interest in Tarantino’s cinematic universe.
As fans eagerly await the theatrical re-release of *Kill Bill*, the prospect of new stories in this beloved franchise, including the animated *Vega Brothers* film and the Bill prequel, adds to the excitement surrounding Tarantino’s future projects.
