Legendary musician Jim Messina is set to perform at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis on November 25, 2023, showcasing his latest work with his new band, The Road Runners. The concert, beginning at 20:00, will feature music from Messina’s newest live album, “Here, There and Everywhere.”
Messina, who gained fame as a member of iconic bands including Buffalo Springfield and Loggins & Messina, describes the album as an eclectic blend of folk, country, rock, and Latin influences from various stages of his career. His contributions to the music industry have solidified his place as a notable figure in rock history.
Initially recognized for his role as the bassist in the renowned Buffalo Springfield, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the 1960s, Messina has had a significant impact on the evolution of rock music. Following the disbandment of Buffalo Springfield in 1968, he co-founded the influential country rock band Poco. In 1971, he teamed up with the then-emerging artist Kenny Loggins to create one of rock’s most successful duos. Over the next eight years, Loggins & Messina released eight albums, selling more than 16 million records, with hits such as “Danny’s Song” and “Your Mama Don’t Dance.”
Tickets for the Annapolis concert are priced between $71 and $96, inclusive of fees. Fans of Messina can expect an engaging performance that highlights his diverse musical influences and rich history in the industry.
