Alan Jackson, the renowned country music artist, has confirmed that his final performance will take place on June 27, 2026, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. This event, titled “Last Call: One More For The Road — The Finale,” marks the end of his illustrious career after more than three decades in the industry.
The decision to retire from live performances stems from a desire to spend more time with his family. At 67 years old, Jackson expressed his gratitude for his successful career, stating, “I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, played everywhere in the country and parts of the world.” He reflected on his journey, emphasizing that now, with his daughters grown and grandchildren on the way, he wishes to enjoy more time at home.
Jackson’s retirement plans are also influenced by health concerns. He has been living with a rare genetic condition known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a chronic neuropathy that impacts balance and mobility. The condition, which he inherited from his father, has progressively worsened, making performances increasingly challenging. “Most of my fans know I have a degenerative health condition that affects my legs and arms and my mobility that I got from my daddy and it’s getting worse,” Jackson explained. “It makes me more uncomfortable on stage, and I just have a hard time.”
Despite these challenges, Jackson is enthusiastic about his final show. He has enlisted a roster of major stars from the country music scene to join him on stage. The lineup includes Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, and Lee Ann Womack. Jackson noted that he wanted to conclude his career where it all began, stating, “We just felt like we had to end it all where it all started for me, and that’s in Nashville — Music City — where country music lives.”
The anticipation for this final performance is palpable, as fans and fellow musicians alike prepare to celebrate Jackson’s legacy. Tickets for the event will likely be in high demand, reflecting the artist’s significant impact on the genre and his devoted fan base.
As Jackson prepares for his retirement, he leaves behind a rich legacy of heartfelt music and memorable performances. His decision to prioritize family and health resonates with many, highlighting the importance of personal well-being in a demanding industry. While the announcement brings a sense of sadness, the excitement surrounding his farewell concert offers a fitting tribute to a remarkable career.
