Paul Ubaldini, aged 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family. His wife, Elizabeth “Bette” Ubaldini, was by his side; the couple shared an enduring marriage of 72 years. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Kupiec Ubaldini.
Before retiring, Paul held significant leadership roles in the transportation industry, including positions as Vice President and General Manager of Jupiter Transportation and President of USI Truck Transport. His professional contributions left a mark on the industry, showcasing his dedication and expertise.
A Passionate Golfer and Family Man
In addition to his professional achievements, Paul was a founding member of the Glenmaura National Golf Course. His passion for golf was evident in his dedication; he was known for making a hole-in-one and being one of the “Dew Boys,” who regularly teed off at 7 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday since the club’s opening in 1992. Paul’s love for the game was matched only by his character, as he was renowned for his grace both on and off the green.
Those who knew Paul often described him as a man with a big heart. He embodied the spirit of a true gentleman: humble, selfless, kind, and unconditionally loving. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, whether watching movies, playing cards, or caring for his many pets.
Family and Community Contributions
Paul is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Linda Manci, and her husband, Joseph, of Dalton; his son, Steven Ubaldini, and wife, Patricia; and his cherished grandchildren: Christopher Manci and wife Stacie, Michael Manci and wife Dina, Joseph Manci and wife Bianca, Jonathan Ubaldini and wife Nicole, Steven Ubaldini and wife Meaghan. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, who are a testament to his family legacy: Parker, Fiona, Margo, Nico, Lucy, Lucan, and Minka Manci, along with Carter, Elle, Steven, and Nora Ubaldini.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 28, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Peter, located at 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. Attendees are kindly requested to proceed directly to the church. Following the mass, entombment will take place at Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Monday, November 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, situated at 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, located at 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, 18411.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Sacred Heart Hospice and the individual caregivers who provided compassionate care during Paul’s final days. His legacy of kindness, love, and commitment to family will be deeply missed.
