Patricia Isajiw, a cherished figure in her community and a dedicated family member, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on September 16, 2025. Born on July 22 in Gloversville, NY, she was known for her unwavering kindness, humor, and commitment to those around her.
Raised in New Jersey and Philadelphia, Patricia devoted her professional life to healthcare as a hospital administrator. It was in Philadelphia that she met her husband, Dr. George Isajiw. Together, they established their family in Upper Darby, PA, where they raised seven children and contributed significantly to their community.
A Legacy of Love and Service
Patricia’s life was characterized by her strong sense of duty and compassion. She played a pivotal role at St. Laurence School, volunteering her time and resources. Additionally, she provided support to young women facing unplanned pregnancies, demonstrating her commitment to fostering hope and resilience. Alongside her husband, she worked in their medical office, where their shared dedication to care left a lasting impact.
Her family reflects her spirit. She leaves behind her husband, Dr. George Isajiw, along with her siblings, Peggy Gray, Joe Cahill (Margie), and Kathy Razzi (Domenick). Patricia is also survived by her children, including Kelly Caviston (Sean), David Isajiw, Peter Isajiw (Deanna), Michael Isajiw (Kathryn Willcox), and Dan Isajiw (Christine), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Joseph Cahill, as well as her daughter, Colleen Melchiorre, and son, Andrew F.X. Isajiw.
Tributes and Farewell
Family and friends are invited to honor Patricia’s memory on September 26 from 18:00 to 20:00 at The Donohue Funeral Home, located at 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day, September 27, at 12:30 PM at St. Laurence Church, located at 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Laurence Elementary School, with the hope of continuing Patricia’s legacy of support for the community.
