Based in Horsham, PA, Surmodics Services & Technologies aims to provide advanced hydrophilic and specialty coating technologies. The division will also offer development and engineering services tailored to the needs of medical device manufacturers around the globe. Company leaders emphasized that this new structure is designed to facilitate a streamlined, customer-centric approach, ensuring close collaboration with device makers throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Commitment to Innovation and Quality

The Project Development and Engineering team at Surmodics Services & Technologies brings decades of experience to the table, supporting the development process from initial concepts to full commercial production. The Horsham facility is equipped with scalable capabilities, catering to a diverse clientele that includes start-ups, contract manufacturers, and large original equipment manufacturers. Services provided encompass formulation development, feasibility testing, process optimization, and high-volume coating production, positioning the division as a comprehensive partner for medical device innovation.

Chip Hance, the chief executive officer of Surmodics, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating, “Today marks a significant milestone for our organization and for the customers we serve.” He noted that the new division underscores a commitment to agility, innovation, and scientific expertise, while maintaining a collaborative spirit with medical device manufacturers.

Supporting Next-Generation Medical Devices

Surmodics Services & Technologies is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation medical devices. As manufacturers increasingly seek dependable partners capable of accelerating development, this division aims to meet the rigorous performance and quality standards demanded by the industry. The establishment of this division reflects a strategic focus on leveraging existing expertise while fostering continued growth and innovation within the medical technology sector.

This development marks a crucial step in Surmodics’ dedication to enhancing the capabilities available to medical device manufacturers, ensuring they have access to the latest technologies and support throughout their development processes.
