Signature Entertainment Secures Rights to ‘The Cure’ Starring Dastmalchian and Greene

Signature Entertainment has acquired the U.K. and Irish rights to the upcoming psychological horror film, The Cure. The movie features notable performances from David Dastmalchian and Ashley Greene, and is produced by Vaneast Pictures. This acquisition was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

The film revolves around Ally Braun, portrayed by Samantha Cochran, a 16-year-old girl who uncovers dark secrets about her adopted parents, who are wealthy biotech entrepreneurs. The cast also includes Sydney Taylor from Marked Men and Tyler Lawrence Gray from The Girl in the Pool.

Nancy Leopardi, known for her work on Nanny Cam, directs the film. The screenplay is crafted by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, both of whom have experience in the horror genre with their work on Unsane. The production team features John Ierardi from Torn Hearts, Nancy Leopardi, and Bo Youngblood from In Flight, with Danielle Gasher serving as an executive producer.

Strategic Collaboration in Horror Cinema

The rights deal was facilitated by Signature Entertainment’s acquisitions executive, Max Hart, and Danielle Gasher, founder of Vaneast Pictures. Hart expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The Cure puts a sharp, high-concept twist on classic psychological horror, led by a truly chilling duo in David Dastmalchian and Ashley Greene. It’s exactly the kind of smart, elevated genre that we champion at Signature, and we’re excited to give U.K. and Irish audiences the medicine they need next year.”

Gasher echoed this sentiment, highlighting the complementary nature of the partnership. She mentioned, “Vaneast is thrilled to be partnering with Signature, whose reputation for delivering bold, high-quality genre films makes them a natural fit for The Cure. The film has found an excellent home in the U.K. and Ireland, and we couldn’t imagine a better partner to bring this chilling story to audiences.”

The film is set to be released in 2024, promising to deliver a gripping narrative that challenges conventional notions of horror.

As the genre continues to evolve, The Cure aims to stand out in a crowded market by combining a compelling storyline with strong performances. With its intriguing premise and a dedicated production team, the film is poised to attract both horror enthusiasts and general audiences alike.
