A flight attendant was tragically stabbed to death in a luxury hotel in Dubai by her ex-husband, who allegedly believed she was working as an escort. The victim, identified only as Anastasia, was discovered at the Voco Bonnington Hotel with at least 15 stab wounds on March 15, 2024. Authorities arrested her ex-husband, Albert Morgan, shortly after his flight landed in St. Petersburg, Russia.
According to investigators, Morgan, a 41-year-old legal consultant, had traveled to Dubai with the intention of confronting Anastasia. He reportedly stalked her to the United Arab Emirates, driven by suspicions about her alleged involvement in escort work during their marriage. In a calculated move, he disguised himself as a hotel guest, wearing a robe taken from the laundry room, and gained access to her room through the assistance of a hotel maid.
Morgan’s initial plan involved throwing green paint on Anastasia and cutting her hair with the scissors he used in the attack. However, the situation escalated into a violent confrontation, leading to her death. Anastasia, who worked for Pobeda Airlines, was found with multiple stab wounds to her neck, torso, and limbs, according to Russian investigators.
The couple had been married for two years before their separation, during which Morgan reportedly had a history of domestic disputes with Anastasia. Although she had previously filed complaints against him, she later withdrew them. Reports indicate that Morgan accessed her private messages, allowing him to track her location before making the 2,700-mile journey to Dubai with an accomplice, a bailiff from St. Petersburg.
Dubai police quickly identified Morgan as the primary suspect through hotel security footage and informed Russian authorities, who apprehended him upon his return. Once in custody, Morgan expressed a desire to join the Russian military to fight in Ukraine, a tactic frequently employed by individuals seeking to evade serious criminal charges.
As the investigation unfolds, a judge in Russia has ordered Morgan to be detained for a minimum of two months. Morgan, who changed his name to align with a prominent U.S. banking family after serving seven years in prison on drug charges, now faces serious allegations that could lead to significant legal consequences.
The tragic death of Anastasia highlights the complex issues surrounding domestic violence and jealousy, drawing attention to the need for increased awareness and preventative measures in similar situations.
