US Military Launches Bold Operation to Capture Maduro in Venezuela

BREAKING: A dramatic US military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro unfolded late Friday night, involving over 150 military aircraft in a meticulously planned mission dubbed “Absolute Resolve.” This unprecedented raid comes as tensions escalate between the US and Venezuela, with President Donald Trump asserting that the US aims to exert control over the South American nation.

In a press conference held in Florida, Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, detailed the audacious operation that required months of planning. “We had to gather intelligence on Maduro’s movements, creating a replica of his compound for rehearsals,” Caine stated. This tactical approach mirrors the successful operation that led to the capture of Osama bin Laden in 2011.

The operation commenced shortly before 11 p.m. ET on July 14, 2025, after US forces awaited favorable weather conditions. Caine reported that during the “darkest hours” of the night, aircraft launched from 20 different bases across the Western Hemisphere. Helicopters carrying special operations forces flew low over water towards Venezuela.

As they neared the Venezuelan coastline, US military forces targeted Maduro’s military defenses, while stealth jets provided aerial cover. Caine emphasized the element of surprise was crucial, stating, “Those in the air over Caracas were willing to give their lives for those on the ground.”

The helicopters arrived at Maduro’s compound around 1 a.m. ET on July 15, facing heavy gunfire as they stormed the facility. Reports indicate that Maduro and his wife were taken into custody after a failed attempt to reach a secure safe room.

By approximately 3:30 a.m. ET, US forces successfully exfiltrated, transporting Maduro and his wife to the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima. Trump later released a photo showing Maduro aboard the ship, blindfolded and awaiting further proceedings.

“We are going to run the country until we can ensure a safe transition of power,” Trump said, emphasizing the US’s commitment to Venezuelan stability.

No significant troop losses were reported during the operation, although Trump mentioned “a couple of guys were hit.” A helicopter sustained damage but remained operational. The Pentagon has not confirmed further details regarding American personnel injuries.

This operation marks a significant escalation in US-Venezuela relations, as Trump has previously accused Maduro’s regime of drug trafficking and other illegal activities. The US has increased its military presence in the Caribbean in recent months, a strategy that has included numerous strikes against alleged drug-smuggling operations.

As this situation evolves, the implications for Venezuela’s political future remain uncertain. Attorney General Pamela Bondi has announced that Maduro has been indicted on various drug-related charges in the Southern District of New York.

With the world watching, the unfolding developments surrounding the capture of Nicolás Maduro could reshape the political landscape in Venezuela and influence US foreign policy in the region. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops.
