URGENT UPDATE: Authorities are desperately searching for the infant of Rebecca Park, a 22-year-old pregnant woman found dead in woodland just days before her due date. Rebecca was last seen leaving her mother’s home in Boon Township, Michigan, on the evening of November 4, 2023.
On Saturday, police confirmed that her body was discovered in Manistee National Forest, but alarmingly, her baby is still unaccounted for. The official cause of death is under investigation, and details remain scarce.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police, are actively involved in the search for the missing infant. Sheriff Trent Taylor stated, “We understand the public’s desire for details and their demand for justice for Rebecca and her baby. We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to seek answers for this tragic situation.”
Rebecca was reported missing earlier this month when she was 38 weeks pregnant. Witnesses reported seeing her enter the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle outside her mother’s residence, and she has not been heard from since. Days later, her phone was found near her mother’s home, raising further concerns.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with this case. Richard Lee Falor, Rebecca’s fiancé and a convicted sex offender, was taken into custody around 7:30 PM on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rebecca’s 21-year-old sister, Kimberly Park, was apprehended just after 1 AM on Wednesday.
Kimberly faces multiple charges, including tampering with evidence and filing a false police report. Falor has been charged with two drug-related offenses.
Rebecca’s father shared his heartbreak with local news outlet WWTV, stating that his daughter’s remains were located during an ongoing search effort along a rural dirt road close to where she was last seen.
The community is reeling from this devastating news, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The search for Rebecca’s baby continues, and the investigation into her death is poised to unfold further in the coming days.
As the situation develops, updates will be provided. The urgency of this case not only highlights the need for justice for Rebecca but also the critical mission to locate her child. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
