BREAKING NEWS: United Airlines has just announced a groundbreaking addition to its flight services, launching nonstop routes from the Portland International Jetport in Maine to Los Angeles and San Francisco this summer. Starting June 27, travelers can enjoy direct flights to these major Californian cities with convenient Saturday departures.
In a significant move for regional travel, the new seasonal service will operate once a week on a Boeing 737, which accommodates between 126 to 179 passengers. Tickets for these much-anticipated flights will be available for purchase beginning tomorrow.
According to Paul Bradbury, director of the Portland Jetport, “Today’s announcement from United is a first for the Portland Jetport.” This expansion marks an exciting development in regional connectivity, as it will provide direct access to two of the top unserved markets in the country during peak tourism season.
The addition of these routes means that the jetport will now offer direct flights to United Airlines’ seven domestic hubs this summer. In addition to the new California destinations, travelers can also access Saturday service to Houston and daily flights to major cities including Chicago, Denver, New York City, and Washington D.C.
Zach Sundquist, assistant airport director, emphasized the importance of this new service, stating, “The addition of Los Angeles and San Francisco to our route network connects us with two of our top unserved markets and provides incredibly easy access to and from the west coast during our peak tourism season.”
As travelers eagerly anticipate this new route, the convenience and connectivity it offers are expected to enhance tourism and travel options for residents and visitors alike. With the summer season approaching, the urgency for tickets is likely to surge as more people look to explore California’s vibrant cities.
Stay tuned for updates as more details about this service emerge, and make sure to secure your tickets starting tomorrow for a summer filled with adventure!
