The Saint, an Italian steakhouse, is set to reopen in the Design District of Dallas on January 3, 2024, after closing its previous location on Gaston Avenue. This new venue, located at 1000 N. Riverfront Blvd, aims to redefine the dining experience in a neighborhood known for its vibrant nightlife, surrounded by popular venues like Bottled Blonde and Greenlight Social.
With a fresh start, The Saint seeks to enhance its reputation, which previously oscillated between being seen as a trendy, loud establishment and one that offers genuine culinary depth. The relocation is designed to align with the vision of Hooper Hospitality Concepts and their new executive chef, Sergio Esquivel.
New Culinary Leadership and Menu Innovations
Chef Esquivel, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, brings a wealth of experience to The Saint. His background includes roles at renowned establishments such as Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and Georgie, as well as a position as a personal chef for the Jones family at AT&T Stadium. Under his leadership, the restaurant will maintain its focus on a Texas-driven Italian steakhouse experience while introducing new and adventurous menu items.
Some highlights from Chef Esquivel’s menu include a Texas Wagyu tartare accompanied by truffle carpaccio and balsamic-cured egg yolk, brisket and foie gras ravioli, and wild mushroom and black truffle tagliatelle. Diners can also look forward to the impressive 32-ounce Bistecca alla Fiorentina, a signature offering that promises to be a crowd-pleaser.
A Unique Dining Atmosphere
The interior of The Saint features a striking design intended to create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. The restaurant spans 1,800 square feet and is characterized by a golden-tiled stairway leading to the dining area, which is adorned with an 18th-century gilt chandelier and an eye-catching graffiti-covered oil portrait by local artist Kelly O’Neal.
Guests will find themselves seated in scalloped upholstered booths surrounded by custom wallpaper that showcases a blend of flora, fauna, snakes, doves, and talismanic motifs. Artwork by Zach Grear introduces modern icons, further enhancing the eclectic ambiance. A 1920s Parisian glass-domed chandelier casts a warm pink glow over the dining area, balancing the room’s contrasts.
The Saint will operate dinner service from Sunday to Thursday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. This new chapter for the steakhouse not only represents a change in location but also a commitment to culinary excellence and a memorable dining experience.
As The Saint prepares for its grand reopening, it aims to attract both loyal patrons and new diners eager to explore its refined offerings in a vibrant new setting.
