URGENT UPDATE: A shocking shooting on West Broad Avenue in Albany has left one teenager dead and four others injured. The incident occurred late Monday night, around 11:48 p.m., when police received a call about the shooting on the 1700 block of West Broad Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 17-year-old male deceased at the scene. Four additional victims, all juveniles, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims include a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, a 16-year-old female, and another 17-year-old male. This tragic event raises serious concerns about youth safety in the community.
The injured victims were swiftly transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for urgent medical attention. Reports indicate that two of the victims were later moved to a medical facility in Macon for surgery, including one who is currently being treated for serious internal injuries. Fortunately, two other victims were treated at Phoebe and have since been released.
