Regina Hall and Anna Faris Confirmed for ‘Scary Movie 6’ Reboot

BREAKING NEWS: Regina Hall and Anna Faris are officially returning for the highly anticipated reboot of Scary Movie 6, set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026. This announcement comes as the horror genre continues to thrive, with franchises like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer also making comebacks.

The beloved duo will reprise their iconic roles as Brenda and Cindy, previously featured in every Scary Movie installment except for the fifth film, which released in 2016. Their reunion marks a significant return to the series for the Wayans brothers—Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans—who originally created the franchise and have not been involved since Scary Movie 2 in 2001.

According to Deadline, Hall and Faris expressed their excitement, stating, “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon—three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again).”

The Wayans brothers will co-write the script alongside Rick Alvarez, with frequent collaborator Michael Tiddes directing. As the horror landscape evolves, Scary Movie 6 is expected to satirize the latest trends in the genre, including the popular “elevated horror” movement.

With this reboot, audiences can expect razor-sharp humor targeting contemporary hits, ensuring that filmmakers like Jordan Peele, Zach Cregger, and Oz Perkins should brace themselves for some comedic jabs.

This revival is generating buzz among fans eager for the return of their favorite characters and the signature parody style that defined the franchise. As the countdown to June 12, 2026 begins, anticipation builds for what promises to be a hilarious and timely commentary on modern horror films.

Stay tuned for more updates as production progresses and more details are unveiled about the upcoming Scary Movie 6. This is shaping up to be a must-see film for horror enthusiasts and comedy lovers alike.
