The National Weather Service warns that while most residents in the core metro area may remain dry, those to the north and south could experience brief showers and fog.
Residents in Waco and Palestine should prepare for scattered rain, which could lead to reduced visibility in certain areas. However, the morning commute for the majority of Dallas-Fort Worth drivers should remain unaffected, as the main precipitation will be outside the city limits.
Temperatures are expected to remain moderate, reaching a high of 65°F amidst mostly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be significantly above average for mid-December, with a low of 55°F forecasted—an astonishing 18°F warmer than usual for this time of year.
A cold front is anticipated to move in late Thursday evening, bringing a drop in temperatures. By Thursday, skies are expected to clear, with a similar high of 68°F and a low of 57°F.
The forecast for the rest of the week indicates pleasant weather for North Texas. On Friday, expect mostly sunny skies with a low of 38°F and a high of 63°F. Saturday will bring a warming trend, with highs reaching 77°F, while Sunday will maintain mild temperatures with a high of 71°F and a low of 52°F.
