Popsugar and Audible recently partnered to host a wellness event called “Temp Check,” aimed at promoting self-care and relaxation during the colder months. The event took place at Remedy Place, a wellness venue known for its holistic approach to health. Attendees were treated to a day filled with activities designed to rejuvenate both the mind and body.
The “Temp Check” experience featured Audible’s well-being collection, which offers a variety of audio content focusing on topics such as sleep, personal development, parenting, and financial wellness. As guests explored their next audiobook selections, they were also able to enjoy the comprehensive amenities at Remedy Place, including a restoration movement class led by wellness expert Alex Silver-Fagan. This class aimed to provide a peaceful escape from the winter chill.
Participants engaged in an array of relaxing activities, including acupuncture on-the-go. This unique service provided guests with 24K gold ear seeds that stimulate acupressure points to help calm the nervous system. Following this, Silver-Fagan guided attendees through movements and mindfulness exercises, fostering a deeper connection between their physical and mental states.
Guests continued their wellness journey with several restorative treatments, including cryotherapy and infrared sauna sessions. Lymphatic compression stations were also available, designed to enhance relaxation and recovery. Each treatment aimed to help participants reset physically and mentally, promoting benefits such as improved circulation, increased metabolism, and natural detoxification.
As the day concluded, Popsugar ensured that attendees left with a wellness-inspired goodie bag filled with essentials designed to maintain their relaxed state. The bags included items such as yoga towels, robes, journals, and ice rollers, encouraging guests to continue their wellness practices.
Naomi Parris, assistant shopping editor at Popsugar, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event. Based in New York, Parris has over eight years of experience in the industry and has previously contributed to various publications, including Essence Girls United and Elle. When not curating shopping roundups or beauty op-eds, she runs her blog, “Eli-Nay,” where she shares fashion insights and cultural commentary.
The “Temp Check” wellness event successfully provided a much-needed respite from the winter weather, allowing attendees to prioritize their well-being amidst the seasonal challenges. As wellness continues to be a significant focus for many, events like this highlight the importance of self-care in maintaining balance and mental health.
