Ozzy lives with the Pick family, who describe him as a lovable and gentle creature. His owner, Angela Pick, revealed that Ozzy has always had an unusually long tongue since he was a puppy. “He has always had a tongue that sticks out of his mouth, ever since he was born,” she told Guinness. This unique characteristic has led to numerous checks by veterinarians, confirming that there are no dental issues; it’s simply an “abnormally, awkwardly long” tongue.
The record-breaking measurement was taken with a ruler placed from Ozzy’s snout to the tip of his tongue, revealing that he beat Rocky’s record by more than two inches—a significant margin in the canine world. Despite his impressive tongue, Ozzy does not utilize it as much as one might expect. “He doesn’t really lick a whole lot,” Angela noted. Instead, he shows affection through gentle nudges, showcasing his sweet personality.
Ozzy’s unique anatomy doesn’t interfere with his eating habits; however, he consumes a substantial amount of food—about half a pitcher of dog food daily. His diet consists of a soft, high-activity formula that makes it easier for him to manage.
