Kansas State Parks Permit Sales Start Dec. 1 – Reserve Now!

UPDATE: Kansas State Parks officials have just announced that annual permits and campsite reservations for the year 2026 will go on sale starting December 1, 2023. This is vital news for outdoor enthusiasts eager to secure their spots for camping, hiking, and family gatherings in the beautiful Kansas State Parks.

Conner O’Flannagan, the director of Kansas State Parks, emphasizes that these permits are not just access passes; they are essential for creating cherished family memories. “Kansas State Parks are where family memories are made,” O’Flannagan stated, highlighting the importance of planning ahead for an unforgettable outdoor experience.

The annual vehicle permits, which allow unlimited entry to all Kansas State Parks from January 1 through December 31, 2026, are priced at just $25 for both residents and non-residents. Senior and disabled Kansas residents can purchase them for $13.75. Additionally, for those with unconventional vehicles like UTVs and golf carts, permits will be available for $52.50, but only at park offices.

Campsite reservations are also a hot topic, with prices set at $202.50 if purchased before April 1 or after September 30. Between those dates, the cost rises to $252.50. For quick getaways, a 14-night camping permit is available for $112.50.

Prime Season Reservations will open at noon on specific dates:
December 10 for parks including Cedar Bluff, Cheney, and Tuttle Creek.
December 17 for parks such as Crawford and El Dorado.

Those planning holiday visits should also note the minimum stay requirements:
– **Memorial Day Weekend**: 4-night minimum
– **July 4th Weekend**: 3-night minimum
– **Labor Day Weekend**: 4-night minimum

Cabin stays also come with minimum requirements during these holiday weekends, ensuring that visitors can fully experience the parks.

The urgency to act is underscored by the popularity of these permits. To ensure a smooth reservation experience, potential campers are encouraged to:
– Familiarize themselves with CampItKS.gov or ReserveAmerica.com before the sales open.
– Ensure their login information is up to date or create a new account.
– Download the CampItKS mobile app for on-the-go access.
– Set reminders for the key sales and reservation dates.
