Hornets Confirm Team Options on Miller, Salaun Amid Injuries

BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets have just announced that they are exercising team options on both guard Brandon Miller and forward Tidjane Salaun as of October 27, 2023. This decision comes at a critical time, as both players are currently facing injury challenges.

Miller, who had his fourth-year option activated, has been sidelined since suffering a left shoulder subluxation during the second game of the season against Philadelphia. Despite his injury, he has made an impressive impact this season, averaging 14.5 points and 4.0 assists in just two games. Last season, as the second overall pick in the 2023 draft, he averaged 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists over 27 games before a season-ending torn right wrist ligament cut his rookie campaign short.

The Hornets also confirmed the activation of Salaun’s third-year option. The sixth overall pick in the 2024 draft, Salaun has shown potential, averaging 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds last season. This season, he has played five games, with averages of 4.0 points and 4.8 rebounds, demonstrating a solid foundation for growth.

This move by the Hornets signals their commitment to both players despite their current health issues, highlighting the team’s strategic focus on building a robust roster. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how Miller and Salaun recover and contribute moving forward.

As the season progresses, the Hornets will need both players at their best to compete effectively in the league. The immediate implications of these decisions could significantly influence the team’s performance as they navigate through the challenges of the ongoing season.

Stay tuned for further updates on Miller and Salaun’s recovery and the Hornets’ performance in the coming weeks.
