BREAKING: Ernest Elton Williams, aged 79, has passed away at his residence in Crane Hill on February 1, 2026. The family has announced that no services are planned at this time, and they have entrusted Cullman Funeral Home to handle arrangements.
Williams was born on October 17, 1946, to William Carvin and Edith Jackson Williams. A dedicated family man and community member, he worked as a poultry, cattle, and hay farmer, also spending a decade on oil rigs. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cathy Williams, and his daughter Sharon Williams Sharpton. He is also remembered by his numerous siblings, including brothers Keith and Ronnie Williams, as well as sisters Karen Chambers, Sandra Sanford, and others. Williams leaves behind one great-grandchild, Kythan Wayne Sharpton.
Tragically, Williams was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Theresa Williams, along with his brother Kenneth Williams. The family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to local churches or favorite charities.
