The Aviators have announced the introduction of three new logos for player hats this season, enhancing the team’s visual identity. The new designs include the Fighter Pilot, the A-Racer, and the Hitting Spruce, featuring the team mascot, Spruce Goose. The traditional navy-blue cap featuring the LV monogram will continue to serve as the designated home cap.
In a statement regarding the new logos, Thomas Brazile, director of retail operations for the Aviators, explained that the Fighter Pilot and A-Racer logos will be worn during select games at the team’s discretion, while the Hitting Spruce design will be reserved for batting practice. Specific dates for these alternative hats have not yet been established.
Details of the New Logos
The Fighter Pilot logo represents a modern nod to aviation and pays homage to Nellis Air Force Base. The design features a fighter pilot with baseball seams illustrated on the top, echoing one of the Aviators’ original logos. The logo also includes reflections of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding mountains, maintaining brand consistency with the existing LV monogram.
The A-Racer logo builds on last season’s batting practice cap design, incorporating an “A” alongside an image of a plane racing through it. This plane symbolizes the Hughes H-1 Racer, known for setting air speed and transcontinental speed records in 1937, showcasing a rich history of aviation and speed that resonates with the team’s identity.
The Hitting Spruce logo features the team mascot, Spruce Goose, depicted in a hitting motion, emphasizing Las Vegas Ballpark’s reputation as a hitter-friendly venue. This playful design encapsulates the spirit of the game and adds a vibrant touch to the team’s merchandise.
