AutoZone Construction Accelerates in Wright Twp. Amid New Developments

UPDATE: Construction plans for an AutoZone in Wright Township are rapidly advancing following key approvals from local officials. The Wright Township Planning Commission granted conditional approval for AutoZone’s preliminary and final development plan during their meeting on July 15. This marks a significant step forward for the project, which will be located on South Mountain Boulevard, adjacent to the Steve Shannon Tire and Auto Center.

On August 11, township supervisors further solidified the project by approving AutoZone’s stormwater management facility plan. This timely progress underscores the township’s commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and retail options, which could greatly benefit residents and stimulate the local economy.

In related news, Wright Township and Dorrance Township are preparing for a joint online auction of surplus equipment. The auction, scheduled from August 20 to September 3, includes two dump trucks, among other items. Dorrance Township supervisors recently voted to partner with Auctions International, Inc. to manage the auction, aiming to maximize returns on these sales. Bids will be evaluated during the supervisors’ meeting on September 8, with the township retaining the right to reject any insufficient bids.

Wright Township is also moving forward with its own sale, advertising bids for a 2005 GMC C7500 dump truck with a minimum bid of $12,000, along with other equipment including a Salt Dog tailgate spreader and a 10-foot Smith hopper.

In Dorrance Township, local officials have approved a sewage facility plan for the Blue Ridge Estates development, a project that is set to transform approximately 78 acres at the intersection of Stairville and Blytheburn Roads. The developer, The Preserve at Blue Ridge LLC, plans to offer 22 wooded building sites, with lot sizes ranging from 2.5 to 4.96 acres. This development will cater to homebuyers looking for spacious, wooded retreats, with minimum home sizes set at 3,000 square feet for two-story houses and 2,200 square feet for ranch-style homes.

Additionally, Wright Township supervisors have awarded a paving contract worth $328,568.40 to Lehigh Asphalt Paving and Construction Company for improvements to Oak Road and Terrace Drive. This initiative is being funded through a Local Share Account (LSA) grant, highlighting the township’s proactive approach to enhancing local infrastructure. They are also seeking another LSA grant for $379,635.50 to pave Stone Hedge Place.

These developments signify a period of growth and improvement for both Wright and Dorrance Townships, as local governments take action to address community needs and enhance public services. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about these projects, as they promise to bring substantial changes to the area.

Stay tuned for more updates as these projects progress and impact the local community!
