Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 FE has surfaced in a live image, presenting a clear look at its design ahead of its anticipated launch. This revelation comes shortly after Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phones during the summer Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2023. The photo, which shows both the front and back of the Galaxy S25 FE, was discovered in certification documents from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).
The image reveals a device that closely resembles last year’s Galaxy S24 FE and the base model of the Galaxy S25 released in January. Notably absent are the rings around the camera lenses, which were present in previous models. The Galaxy S25 FE features a flat display with a centered front-facing camera and relatively thin bezels. On the back, the device showcases three vertically aligned cameras accompanied by a flash.
According to the WPC, the Galaxy S25 FE received certification on July 8, 2023. The documentation indicates that the phone supports Qi version 2.1.0, also known as Qi2 Ready, similar to the Galaxy S25. While the Fan Edition will support Qi2 technology, it will not include the magnets needed to secure Qi2 accessories. Users can still utilize Qi2 with compatible cases, much like any S25 model.
Anticipated Launch and Expectations
If Samsung adheres to the release schedule from the previous year, the Galaxy S25 FE could be announced in September 2023. Last year’s model received positive acclaim, with some reviewers describing it as one of the “most underrated phones” tested in 2024. Tom’s Guide phones editor John Velasco stated, “What’s even more impressive is that I find the Galaxy S24 FE a much more worthy phone than Samsung’s foldables, like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6.”
This sets a significant expectation for the S25 FE to meet, but if the new mid-range phone can deliver similar performance to its predecessor, it could provide excellent value for consumers seeking a more budget-friendly option.
