From 1981 to 1984, Flutie played as a quarterback for the Boston College Eagles. During his senior year, he won the prestigious Heisman Trophy, along with the Maxwell Award and the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. He left college as the NCAA’s all-time passing yardage leader, amassing 10,579 yards. A defining moment of his college career occurred on November 23, 1984, when he achieved a legendary “Hail Mary” touchdown pass against the University of Miami.
