The Super 7 Flag Football Championships are set, with defending champions Central-Phenix City and Montgomery Catholic securing their spots after decisive semifinal victories on November 25, 2025. Central-Phenix City dominated Smiths Station with a score of 38-7, while Montgomery Catholic overcame Brewbaker Tech 25-12.
Central-Phenix City’s win was marked by a strong performance from Amya Brooks, who caught three touchdown passes from quarterback Mariah Harrison. The Red Devils, currently ranked third in the USA Today Top 25 and sixth in MaxPreps, took an early lead, going into halftime at 26-0. They maintained control throughout the game, triggering the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s (AHSAA) mercy rule, which ended the match with just two minutes remaining.
The Red Devils’ impressive season continues as they boast a record of 19-0, having shut out 16 opponents and allowed only two teams to score against them this year. Their upcoming championship match will see them face either No. 2 Vestavia Hills or No. 6 Spain Park, who will compete in their own semifinal match on November 26.
Montgomery Catholic, on the other hand, displayed resilience after a tightly contested first quarter against Brewbaker Tech, which ended in a 6-6 tie. The Knights surged ahead with a remarkable second quarter, scoring 13 unanswered points. Hayden Fitts, Montgomery Catholic’s junior quarterback, delivered an impressive performance with 157 yards passing and four touchdown throws, as well as 98 yards rushing.
Catholic’s head coach, Whitney Toole, expressed pride in her team’s execution, noting their ability to compete against a strong Brewbaker Tech squad. “Our girls played until the very last whistle, and I couldn’t be prouder,” she stated.
With the playoffs heating up, the anticipation grows for the championship match on December 3, 2025, as both teams aim to defend their titles and secure their legacy in Alabama high school flag football. The remaining semifinal matches will determine who joins them in the finals, ensuring a thrilling conclusion to this year’s Super 7 tournament.
