As the Dallas Cowboys conclude a disappointing 2025 season, quarterback Dak Prescott remains resolute about finishing strong. With a current record of 6-8-1, the Cowboys will miss the playoffs for the year, but Prescott is determined to avoid a repeat of this season’s struggles. “We won’t be back here in this spot,” Prescott stated on Tuesday as the team prepares for their upcoming game against the Washington Commanders on December 25.
Looking back on the season, Prescott acknowledged the challenges faced. “Each year has its own troubles. Each year has its own highs, lows, ebbs and flows,” he said. He emphasized the importance of taking control of what he can influence, expressing a desire to be more vocal with the team’s management. “I think having more input, having more say so, and being asked more questions from the front office,” he noted. Prescott aims to ensure he contributes positively to the team dynamic, encouraging everyone around him to elevate their performance.
Prescott has no intention of sitting out the final two games of the season. When asked about the possibility, he quickly dismissed the idea, stating, “Absolutely not, especially on Christmas.” He expressed his eagerness to play and finish the season on a high note, saying, “I want to make it 17” games played. This determination highlights his commitment to the sport and to the Cowboys, especially during a holiday game.
On the same day, Prescott was named to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career, a testament to his individual performance this season. He has amassed 4,175 yards, thrown 28 touchdowns, and recorded 10 interceptions. Reflecting on this achievement, Prescott shared, “My success, that accolade is 100% shared with each and every one of those guys in there.” While he appreciates the recognition, he emphasized that personal accolades are not the ultimate goal for the team.
As the Cowboys prepare to face their division rivals on Christmas Day, Prescott’s leadership and commitment serve as a reminder of the team’s potential for improvement. With his focus on influencing both players and management, he aims to pave the way for a more successful 2026 season. The upcoming game presents an opportunity for Prescott and the Cowboys to end the year on a positive note, setting the stage for a renewed effort in the following season.
