The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team has made history by qualifying for the NCAA DII Volleyball Tournament for the first time. With a regular season record of 23-5 and a conference record of 14-4 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Nanooks will enter the 2025 NCAA West Region Championships as the No. 5 seed. Their remarkable season also saw them clinch a share of the GNAC Championship, marking the program’s first conference title.
This achievement secures the Nanooks a place in a highly competitive regional field. Other teams in the West Region include the top-seeded Point Loma Sea Lions, the No. 2 Simon Fraser Red Leafs, the No. 3 Fresno Pacific Sunbirds, and their in-state rivals, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, who are seeded No. 4.
