Trump Rages Against New York Times Over Claims of Fatigue

Donald Trump has publicly criticized the New York Times following a report suggesting he is experiencing fatigue and diminished energy levels as he navigates his second year out of office. The article, published on November 6, 2023, highlights observations from public events, noting that Trump appeared less engaged during a meeting in the Oval Office where he reportedly dozed off while others spoke.

In response, Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday morning to express his frustration, calling the publication “the Creeps at the Failing New York Times.” He claimed to have won the 2024 Presidential Election in a “landslide,” asserting he had secured victories in all seven swing states and the popular vote, along with significant electoral support. Trump cited a supposed margin of victory of 2,750 to 550 across the nation’s districts, characterizing it as a “complete wipeout.”

The former president continued his tirade by boasting of his accomplishments during his tenure, stating, “I settled eight wars, have 48 new stock market highs, our economy is great, and our country is respected again all over the world.” He criticized the Times for what he described as a “hit piece” on his energy levels and dismissed the notion that he was losing vitality.

Trump maintained that he has never worked harder, countering the article’s implications by stating, “To do this requires a lot of work and energy.” He went on to assert that “the Radical Left Lunatics” at the Times were intentionally misrepresenting the facts about his health and performance.

In his lengthy post, Trump targeted Katie Rogers, the article’s author, labeling her a “third-rate reporter” and attacking her character, stating she writes “only bad things about me.” Such remarks have drawn criticism in the past for their personal nature, especially in reference to female journalists.

Despite the negative coverage, Trump claimed that his poll numbers are at an all-time high and predicted they would rise further due to incoming investments in the United States. He concluded his post with a reminder that while everyone may experience a decline in energy eventually, his recent “perfect physical exam” and cognitive test results indicated he remains in good health.

As the debate surrounding Trump’s health and energy continues, the New York Times report has reignited discussions about the former president’s public image and the scrutiny he faces from media outlets.

Trump’s reaction exemplifies the ongoing relationship between him and the media, characterized by frequent confrontations and accusations of bias. As the political landscape evolves, his statements will likely continue to generate significant attention and debate.
