San Diego is set to become a hub of excitement as the annual San Diego Comic-Con takes place from July 24 to July 27, 2025. While the San Diego Convention Center will host a range of panels and events, Paramount+ is bringing its fan activations to the streets of downtown, ensuring that those without tickets can also participate in the festivities. This year, Paramount+ is reintroducing The Lodge, offering a series of immersive experiences themed around popular shows including Dexter: Resurrection, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Mission: Impossible.
Exciting Attractions Await Fans
The Lodge will return to the Gaslamp District at Happy Does Bar, located at 340 Fifth Avenue. Open from Wednesday to Sunday, fans can enjoy interactive experiences designed to engage and entertain. The activation will feature a variety of themed installations, including a vault from Dexter: Resurrection where guests can explore relics and case files reminiscent of the iconic character’s chilling storyline.
In anticipation of the upcoming season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, fans will have the opportunity to enter a Starfleet holodeck. This immersive space will include interactive vignettes based on episodes from the new season, along with a romantic “Intergalactic Love Lounge” serving themed cocktails. Additionally, attendees can visit the Starfleet Academy area to collect exclusive merchandise.
Unique Experiences and Free Admission
Another highlight is the Landman Patch Café, where visitors can grab drinks in souvenir mugs inspired by the series. For those interested in espionage, the NCIS: TONY & ZIVA activation offers a Parisian café experience with a twist. Guests will navigate a stripped-down safehouse filled with Easter eggs such as surveillance equipment and photographs, creating an atmosphere of intrigue.
Fans of action can recreate a scene from the original Mission: Impossible by posing as Ethan Hunt being lowered into a high-security vault. This photo opportunity will surely be a memorable moment for attendees.
Admission to The Lodge is free, but reservations are required. The activation will operate from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday. Visitors can secure their spots through an online booking system, with a standby line available for those without reservations.
In addition to The Lodge, fans can enjoy the CBS Sports Clubhouse or visit the UEFA Champions League-themed sports bar. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday, attendees can also experience the Paramount Mountain, showcasing beloved characters and shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Survivor.
Outside of Comic-Con, Paramount+ will extend its reach with a “Nerd Out” booth activation on the lawn of the Omni San Diego Hotel. This area will feature games, DIY activities, and contests, allowing fans to interact with their favorite franchises in a relaxed setting.
Meanwhile, Pluto TV will also be featured in The Lodge as part of its “Summer of Cinema” campaign, providing free popcorn, slushies, and a unique photo opportunity.
As Comic-Con approaches, excitement continues to build, with several fan activations already open in downtown San Diego, including the Pac-Man Café and the Malibu Barbie Café. With a wealth of activities planned, the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages.
