Duncanville Launches Stream Condition Assessments in November

Residents of Duncanville, Texas, should prepare for upcoming stream condition assessments scheduled for mid-November as part of the city’s Drainage Master Plan. On November 18, 2023, assessments will focus on the Mauk Branch, which extends from E. Wheatland Rd to E. Danieldale Rd. The following day, November 19, the attention will shift to Ten Mile Creek, stretching from S. Main St to the East City Limits.

The City of Duncanville’s official notice indicates that trained personnel will conduct on-site evaluations along these stream channels. City officials have assured residents that disruptions to daily activities will be minimal during this period. Assessors will carry official identification, allowing residents to easily recognize them while they work.

For those seeking more detailed information, the city has provided an assessment map available for download in PDF format through the official announcement. This map outlines the specific stream sections that will be evaluated. The assessments are crucial for enhancing and maintaining Duncanville’s drainage infrastructure.

The primary objective of these evaluations is to identify areas that may require remediation or improvements to effectively manage stormwater runoff. This initiative aims to preserve the environmental integrity of Duncanville’s natural waterways and reduce the risk of flooding in local neighborhoods.

Residents with questions or concerns regarding the assessments can contact Matt Bryant, the Director of Public Works, at 972-780-4900 Option 0. The city encourages public engagement and is committed to keeping its residents informed throughout the assessment process.
