Patrón Tequila has been announced as the official tequila partner for the 2026 Grammy Awards, introducing the event’s inaugural official cocktail, named The Golden Record. This collaboration signifies a new chapter in the relationship between the prestigious awards ceremony and the renowned tequila brand, enhancing the festivities surrounding music’s most celebrated night.
The cocktail will make its debut on March 2026, served at the Grammy Awards and various prominent events leading up to the ceremony. Crafted in partnership with Daniel Gonzalez, a mixologist from Mexico City’s Licorería Limantour, The Golden Record features a blend of Patrón El Alto tequila, which combines Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas. The creation reflects a dedication to quality and craftsmanship, aligning with the Grammy Awards’ commitment to celebrating artistry.
In a statement, Adam Roth, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Business Development at the Recording Academy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “The Grammy Awards celebrate artistry at the highest level, and Patrón’s uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship and quality mirrors that pursuit of excellence,” he said. He emphasized the excitement of toasting with The Golden Record, which will be enjoyed by attendees on the red carpet and viewers at home.
The Golden Record is a sophisticated blend that includes 1.5 oz of Patrón El Alto, 1 oz of Prosecco, 0.5 oz of Tio Pepe Fino Sherry, and 2 oz of pear cordial, enhanced with a dash of Scrappy Bitters’ bergamot bitters and garnished with three slices of red grapes. This innovative cocktail exemplifies the luxury association of Patrón, which has long been referenced in contemporary music.
The partnership feels like a natural extension of Patrón’s presence in the music industry, particularly in genres such as hip-hop and Latin music. The brand has been mentioned in songs by artists including Miranda Lambert, Lil Jon, and Taylor Swift. Recently, Hit-Boy and Offset referenced Patrón in their track “2live” after visiting the distillery in Jalisco.
Patrón has also been an essential supporter of Latin music artists. The brand sponsored Becky G during her first-ever Mi Casa, Tu Casa tour in 2023 and hosted a dinner for Troye Sivan following his Grammy nominations in early 2024.
D-J Hageman, Vice President of the USA for Patrón Tequila, shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We’re honored to kick off our first year as the Official Tequila Partner of the Grammy Awards. Our partnership with the Recording Academy allows us to toast the craft, creativity, and passion that define this moment in music.”
In addition to The Golden Record, Patrón and Licorería Limantour have created two more cocktails for Grammy week: the Patrón High Note and The Clear Winner. The Patrón High Note combines 1.5 oz of Patrón Silver Tequila, 1.5 oz of tomato mango purée, 0.5 oz of Patrón Citrónge Orange Liqueur, and 0.75 oz of lime juice, served in a glass rimmed with Maldon salt and garnished with a mango slice. Meanwhile, The Clear Winner mixes 2 oz of Patrón Cristalino with 1 oz of Martini & Rossi Bianco, 0.75 oz of Luxardo Bitter Bianco, and 0.15 oz of Suze Aperitif, finished with a dash of Scrappy’s lime bitters and garnished with a lemon twist.
This collaboration between Patrón Tequila and the Grammy Awards marks an exciting moment for both the brand and the music industry, celebrating the rich intersection of artistry and fine craftsmanship.
