The Omaha Mavericks have demonstrated notable achievement both in athletics and academics, with a remarkable 203 student-athletes earning recognition on the 2024-25 Summit League Academic Honor Roll. This accomplishment highlights the Mavericks’ commitment to academic excellence alongside their performance in various sports.
To qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. The Mavericks’ total of 214 selections placed them fourth among the conference’s member institutions. In total, the Summit League recognized 1,942 student-athletes from its nine full-time members and six associate members across 17 sports.
Among the Mavericks, the baseball team led the men’s sports with 27 student-athletes honored. On the women’s side, both the swimming and diving team and the track and field team each had 27 student-athletes recognized, showcasing the depth of talent within Omaha’s athletic programs.
In addition to the Academic Honor Roll, 94 Mavericks were named to the 2024-25 Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence. To qualify for this prestigious list, student-athletes must achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher, have utilized a year of eligibility, and completed three full semesters or five quarters at their institution. Notably, 25 Mavericks earned this honor with distinction, achieving a GPA of 3.9 or higher.
Recognizing team efforts, the Summit League awarded the Team Academic Achievement Award to the Omaha men’s soccer and women’s tennis programs. Men’s soccer achieved a team GPA of 3.419, while women’s tennis excelled with a GPA of 3.669. These awards reflect the percentage of eligible student-athletes on the Commissioner’s List, underscoring the academic commitment of these teams.
