Snoop Dogg’s highly anticipated New Year’s Eve special for NBC and Peacock has been abruptly canceled. The announcement came on November 5, 2025, just weeks before the event was set to air live from Miami at 10:30 PM ET/PT. Originally unveiled in May 2025 during NBC’s upfront event, the special was promoted as a night filled with “unforgettable music, iconic performances, and surprise artist collaborations.”
The cancellation appears to be due to a scheduling conflict on Snoop Dogg’s part. He is set to host coverage of the upcoming Olympics in Italy in early 2026. In a statement regarding the change, Snoop Dogg expressed, “Sometimes the calendar gets in the way of the celebration, which is why my NBC family and I decided this winter was time for us all to focus on the Olympics. But don’t worry, we’ll party together bigger and better later in 2026. Ya dig?”
In light of the cancellation, NBC has adjusted its programming for New Year’s Eve. The network will instead air a rerun of the special Wicked: One Wonderful Night at 8:00 PM ET, followed by a retrospective titled A Toast to 2025! at 10:30 PM ET.
The decision to cancel the event may come as a disappointment to fans who were looking forward to Snoop Dogg’s unique take on the New Year’s celebration, particularly given his reputation for high-energy performances and memorable collaborations.
With Snoop Dogg’s commitment to the Olympics, fans can anticipate a different kind of celebration later in 2026, promising to bring the excitement and entertainment they have come to expect from the artist.
