Asghari, who was married to Spears from June 9, 2022, until their separation on July 20, 2023, shared his reflections at the Blue Carpet Countdown for the First National PrEP Day. He stated, “Distraction is always a great compliment,” referencing Spears’ remarks. He continued, “Sometimes we can turn distractions into great things,” emphasizing a positive outlook on their past.
The couple’s relationship began in October 2016 when they met on the set of Spears’ music video for “Slumber Party.” They made their relationship public in January 2017, shortly after being seen together on New Year’s Eve. Following nearly five years together, they became engaged in September 2021. Their divorce was finalized in May 2024.
In a recent Instagram post, Spears described her marriage to Asghari as a “fake distraction” during a time of distress, particularly as she struggled with being cut off from her sons.
